The Calorie Counter lets clients log their food intake throughout the day, track calories and macros, assemble dish libraries, and build habits around nutrition—with trainers able to view, guide, and support progress along the way. From the outset, we focused on creating an experience that fits naturally into the rhythm of daily life. Logging meals takes seconds, and the interface stays out of the way so users can focus on accurately recording what they’ve eaten—right down to the exact foods, drinks, and portion sizes.

The scale of the Calorie Counter puts it on par with popular standalone nutrition apps like MyFitnessPal. The challenge, however, was ensuring it fit seamlessly within the broader PT Distinction ecosystem, alongside all the existing tools and features. To make that happen, we thoughtfully extended the interface design system and developed numerous flows and lifelike interactive prototypes—guaranteeing a smooth, consistent user experience.

From the design phase, we moved into development of the iOS and Android apps, while the PTD development team built the back-end logic, API connections, and web front-end. The result is a brilliant release we're truly proud of, highlighting the value of fluid collaboration between us at Eastwood and PTD’s internal product team.
The final product is now live and already helping coaches take their nutrition support to a whole new level.
